INFORMATION I NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN HIGH SCHOOL

Each semester I will earn ½ credit per class when my grade is 70 or better. I can earn 3½ credits per semester at Jasper. I need 26 credits to graduate from high school.

Each semester stands by itself; semester grades are not averaged for a final grade.

To be promoted from ninth to tenth grade, I must have 6 credits, including both semesters of English 1.

To be promoted from tenth to eleventh grade, I must have 13 credits including all of English 1 and 2, Algebra, Geometry, Biology and one Social Studies.

My semester average comes from adding together the three six weeks grades plus the final exam grade and dividing by 4. I must have a minimum of 280 points to get a 70 average.

HOMEWORK COUNTS. The biggest cause of failure is not doing homework.

ABSENCES AND TARDIES CAN LEAD TO FAILING GRADES. You must attend your classes 90% of the time to earn credit. It is possible to earn a grade of 70 and lose credit because of excessive absences. An * beside a grade on a report card means an absence failure.

Do not repeat a class you have already taken and passed. Repeating a passed class will not change your grade, and you will receive no credit.

Grade points are given and rank in class is determined according to the following chart:
